The braids are gone, now back to my TWA (teeny weeny afro). My hair always sparks negative comments and feedback from my brothers. It just so happened that one of them was the one taking my pictures this time round. As he did, he kept telling me that I needed to get my long hair back. His comments got me thinking, whats the big obsession with long hair? I remember when I first cut my hair, my brothers were genuinely worried about my future dating prospects, how hilarious! All I kept singing back to them, and at times still do, is that India Arie song, 'I am not my hair'. I mean hair does not define who I am, its a beauty accessory like a pair of earrings or jewelry. The only difference is that its permanently on you and you cant take it off as you please, unless you got a wig on. Funny enough though my dad is the biggest supporter of my natural hair and he dislikes my hair extensions. In short, you cant please everyone with your hair, just do you! To all the male's out there, please comment below and tell me what you prefer, short or long? To the females, what are your thoughts, is hair such a big deal?
As for the outfit, I put it together in a rush. I was late and I wanted to be comfortable. My go to comfort skirt is my maxi skirt and since I didn't want to be too dressy I paired it with a simple t-shirt. For some reason I felt the need to compensate for the short hair so I paired it with heels, nice big earrings and even put on some eyeliner and mascara. Guess my brothers comments got under my skin hmmphhh.
